I’m ashamed to say I hadn’t cleaned off the road grime from our ride in Arizona a couple of weeks ago. There were still even a few bugs on my windshield when I backed out of the garage and into the morning’s 33 degrees. There have been a few nice afternoons since we got back and my non-riding colleagues seemed concerned that I hadn’t been on the bike.
The responsibilities of adulthood kept me out of the saddle last Saturday, but the weather is looking pretty good for this weekend, so I’ll likely ride. The sting of cold on my face this morning was more than made up for by the beautiful ride home. My first commute into the office this year, I’m looking forward to the arrival of Spring and more early morning rides into work—and the beautiful afternoons riding home.
