It rained all morning. It wasn’t looking like we were going to spend any time in the saddle on Saturday. The clouds started to retreat around lunch time and by the time we got home, Kelly had called with an invitation for a short ride.
We didn’t have much time, but we had enough time for a quick ride up Weber Canyon and back through Parley’s Canyon. The Interstate isn’t my favorite place to ride, but this is a pretty fun loop despite the fact that it’s almost 100 percent on four-lane Interstate Highway.
Weber Canyon is a fun section of Interstate now that the construction is done. The view from the road is beautiful as it follows the Weber River through the canyon to Echo. It looks like the work they’ve been doing on the dam is coming along and even looks like the reservoir is starting to refill.
The temperature dropped a little as we rode through Coleville, but the roads were dry and there wasn’t much traffic. More clouds started to roll in as we descended Parley’s Canyon. Fortunately we missed the rain before we were done.
Sometimes it doesn’t really matter where you’re going, it’s the sun on your face and the pavement under your feet.
