The past week has been beautiful and today was no exception—probably the best riding day of the year thus far. The morning started out about 50 degrees when Kelly and I headed south on the west side of Utah Lake. Early in the season that seems to be a staple for us. Even when it’s cold, the roads are usually dry and we prefer the quiet roads to the Interstate any time we can.
After stopping in Elberta in front of our favorite Sinclair station, we headed into Santaquin and points further south past the lavender farms through Nepi, Moroni, Mt Pleasant, and on to Fairview for lunch at the Home Plate.
It’s hard not to feel like your going through the Book of Mormon with so many small towns named after key figures in the book—Lehi, Nephi, and Moroni. The pioneer settlers of the area were probably hoping the names would rub off on the residents.
I broke out the GoPro and took a little video you can see HERE. I’m not excited about mounting the camera on my helmet, but everywhere else I put it there seems to be a lot of vibration. One of these days I’ll find the right mounting system.
